Warp Knit Operations
Fab has a variety of warp knitting machines in 20, 24, 28, 32 and 36 gauges. We have one of the largest banks of three bar warp knit machines in the hemisphere which make unique and specialized fabrics. Fabrics are made from polyester, nylon as well as polyester/spandex and nylon/spandex blends.

Warping & Beaming
Fab has one of the largest Warping/Beaming departments in the USA. This capability allows fab to purchase synthetic yarns in either package or beam configurations from its yarn suppliers.This operation is a key component in fab’s “quick turn” capability. Click here to view our products.
Circular Knit Operations
Fab’s circular knit department offers a wide variety of single knits, double knits and jacquards in rigid and stretch constructions primarily for apparel, athletic-team sport-performance, and sleepwear markets.

This department also features fine guage, large diameter knitting machines outfitted with spandex feeders for the production of stretch and performance fabrics.
Fab's Circular Knit division offers novelty single, double, and jacquard fabrications primarily for the apparel and sleepwear industries. This enables the Company to manufacture both commodity and novelty fabrics. The knitting machines are elevated to allow for large roll circumferences with a minimum number of seams.
Dyeing and Finishing Operations
Fab has significant dyeing and finishing capacity.
Fabrics are dyed in jets, pressure and atmospheric beams, becks, and delicate-dye equipment.

Fabrics are heat set on tenter frames consisting of both direct fired frames for the processing of plain, stable fabrics and indirect frames used for the heat-setting of spandex blended fabrics.

All products are packaged, warehoused, and shipped from Mohican Mills, Lincolnton, North Carolina ensuring our customers that their orders are prepared, handled, and packaged properly.
Surface Finishing
Fab has one of the largest surface finishing departments for knitted fabrics in the Americas- Nappers

- Shears
The Company's proprietary group of registered trademark surface-finished fabrics, in both rigid and spandex-blended constructions, such as Supersuede®, Grand flannel®, Stratofleece®, Panavelle® and Panalure® velveteens are produced on this equipment.
Heat Transfer Printing
Fab’s heat transfer print machinery produces fine-detailed prints.
This department primarily manufactures flame retardant printed sleepwear fabrics for medical and healthcare use.
Color Lab
The color lab is responsible for matching customers’ colors starting with initial lab dip color matching through bulk dyeing and finishing production.
The senior lab manager is textiile chemistry degreed
All laboratory technicians are trained in standardized pipetting skills and techniques.

Fabric Testing & TQM System
Fab operates under a company-wide Total Quality Management System, which encompasses both quality assurance and quality control functions.Approximately 21 per cent of the company’s manufacturing personnel are directly involved in the TQM system. All manufacturing personnel are involved in quality assurance.
The “system” includes the training and education of company associates, vendor certification procedures and compliance, process control, cost reduction and efficiency improvement benchmarks, quality assurance, laboratory testing, in-process and final inspection and packaging.
Fab operates and maintains its own certified in-house laboratory testing facilities which performs the following tests:
- Childrens’ fr for apparel and sleepwear pursuant to US laws and regulations;
- NFPA 701 flammability for commercial use fabrics;
- FAA (Federal Aviation Agency) flammability for passenger aircraft cabin material;
- Customer-specific quality and testing procedures;
- Colorfastness;
- Ph;
- Phenolic yellowing;
- Dimensional stability;
- Pilling resistance;
- Strength;
- Elongation;
- Weight;
- Water repellancy;

- Moisture management;

Information Technology & Administration
The company maintains an in-house information technology department, which provides internal support to manufacturing, sales, finance, accounting, and administration.
External customer/vendor support and communication is handled by the company’s integrated Lot Tracking Customer Service System, through electronic data interchange (edi), pc-based email, and by the old fashioned fax.
Believe it or not we also communicate through the US mail.
Production Planning
The company utilizes an integrated planning system on its IBM AS 400 computer platform ensuring that customers orders are delivered on or before confirmed delivery dates.
The company's "Real Time" proprietary bar code and scanning “Customer Lot Tracking System” which allows us to know exactly where each customer order is physically located within the operation and the status of the dyeing and finishing procedures being performed.
Our Customer Service department is able to quickly and accurately respond to customer order status inquiries by using this system.
