Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Initiatives
Fab takes great pride in being a responsible environmental steward for both the current and future generations making Lincolnton County their home.
Fab’s manufacturing operations are constantly monitored and controlled by local, state, and Federal environmental agencies and is proud that we meet or exceed all local, state, and Federal environmental standards and regulations concerning the usage and discharge of water and energy by-products.
It is the Company’s goal to have the smallest possible carbon footprint.
- The quality of the water entering and leaving the dyehouse is closely monitored and controlled;
- Fab uses exclusively “stoker-quality” coal meeting EPA regulations for ash and sulfur content;
- Prior to atmospheric release from the Finishing Department a Scrubbing System removes most of the air pollutants from the discharged steam;
- Natural gas is used to produce steam for the Dyeing and Finishing plant, burning 100% clean;
- Approximately 98% of the waste resulting from our manufacturing processes never reaches a landfill.
- All incoming dyes and chemicals are evaluated to insure that all components are safe and do not appear on any Restricted Substances list.
